This is the 1/48 scale model of the Spitfire Mk 2 by Revell. This was a snowy cold weekend project I decided build.
It was a very simple kit to build and allowed me plenty of time to try out new video making techniques.
I would also like to thank my beautiful wife Amelia for her patience with the camera.

  • I bought this clamp at harbor tools and freight they were 2 for a dollar.

Its a very good clamp because you do not want a heavy spring that will bend or warp your parts.

  • Great job on the Spit and great video! The Spitfire is my favourite aircraft from the WW2 era! We have a Spitfire and Hurricane full size replicas as part as a memorial tribute in one of our local parks. Great photo opps there! Keep up the great work and vids!..........55!

  • @55oldscool we have a Museum at the Air Base where I live but most of the aircraft there are from the Cold War area. They do have a nice Corsair there though. Thanks for the comments.

  • A beautiful Spitfire! Very clean job! Now what you gonna build? Take it easy and Keep Building!!!

  • @atomicdog32 I am currently working on a big HH-53 helicopter my theme for the next video is going to be a little more rocking with a Combat Search and Rescue footage.

  • nice keep up the good work

  • 6- If you use acryllics, use 70 to 90 percent alcohol to thin the paint. Thinning with water will make the paint cause forming droplets. If you use enamels, thin the paint with Zippo or Ronsonol lighter fuel. Way better than white spirit or commercial paint thinners. 7- Use pictures of real airplanes to copy the correct camouflage scheme. 8- glue the landing gear LAST ! Let the plane rest on blocks and make sure the landing gear does not touch the table while it dries. Wait at least 24 hrs.

  • Here are some tips for a better model : 1- forget preshading, this will NOT make your model look better. 2- use acryllic paints from Revell, they dry fast and adhere very well to plastic. 3- Next time, use these Revell colors for a Spitfire: 82 Dark Earth, 68 Dark Green and 59 Sky Blue. 4- If you paint by hand, paint the first layer highly thinned, the second one thick. Use a large brush. 5- If you use an airbrush, spray the whole airplane brown, then use low tack tape and spray green.

  • @2:43 where can I get that clamp at

  • that was my 2nd ever kit, but that turrned out Worse that the 1stone, soit was a waste of $30.37 counting the supplies ineeded4 it
