  • Tommy Douglas was an amazing man. A lot of the things he championed make as much sense today as it did years ago.

The Canadian system isn't perfect but it's a million times better then the US system.

  • KOD the doctors association and the opposition should be ashamed of themselves for spreading these terrible lies about the gov't bill. All in an attempt to keep their free enterprise system going when all the CCF wanted to do was to pay the medical bills for all the people of the province. What Tommy should have done was to have foreign docs ready to take over at a moments notice and pass a bill making the strike illegal forcing the doctors back to work. But Tommy wasn't that type of man......

  • @AtheistGlitch not so much a documentary - but a movie based on his life... A+

  • Dude, I'm stealing this vid.

    Do you mind?

Or should I say, do you think the CBC would mind?

  • he believed in the democratic right of individuals to speak their mind whether it is the truth or not. He believed that people should be told the truth and allow people to make their own decisions when he could have made the bill law before going to an election. He was called everything under the sun and still could not be stopped but people with grudges would not let him become Prime Minister so he could pass his social agenda. More people should watch this program and learn something.

  • It sounds like deja vu all over again !

  • You can find "Prairie Giant: The Tommy Douglas Story" on amazon in the US, but do a search for the Canadian Health Coaltion's website to hear all about our system and the Douglas archive as well.
