A complete military presence in Iraq DOES influence politics. Those who would say otherwise obviously don't understand the power of the sword. The fact that "Iraq"'s oil minister said a few weeks ago that Iraq will no longer be doing business with Russia, for unspecified reasons is a good indicator of the collusion that defines the current regime. We need to start having a discussion about the War for Oil rather than the War on Terrorism. Preemptively killing all terrorists is impossible.
It's been a long while since you've written this, but I wanted to make the point that American Oil firms need not be involved with the US invasion of Iraq. I think more importantly, the US wanted to set up a pro West/anti OPEC Iraq, in where cheap Iraqi oil would be able to flood the market forcing other OPEC countries to do the same, which would then drive down the price of oil and would hurt OPEC in the long run. I think the US sees OPEC as a HUGE obstacle to its economic future.
the war for oil has demonised muslims! America will have to pay the consequences of their hitler leaders! they will soon undertand whats its like to live in poverty!
Amidst rising bloodshed, President Bush has told the Iraqi Parliament they have till the 31st of May to pass a flawed oil law that could give multinational companies unprecedented control of Iraq's oil fields. But some Iraqi leaders are daring to resist - and they need our help.
Let's tell Iraqis the world supports their right to set their own future! ACT NOW & PASS IT ON!!!
Sorry, I was talking about the ownership of oilfield and business interests pertaining to that matter. True, there are contractors granting drill activity. Notice they don't own the oil, nor of wanted in the first place (due to the ongoing geopolitical ###). How much money is there for the fee-based drilling activity? Please check companies' public financial records submitted to SEC. I repeat: no right-minded businessman will make any long-term commitment in Iraq.

I love when the Iraq citizens, "the true patriots", kill the American insurgents.
