The orb is anti-gravitational. It can spin, flip and float. Inhabitant can climb into the orb through a hatch on either side and can move from workspace to sleeping space. Walls are translucent, always allowing panoramic views. The orb is sited in GoogleEarth in three places, lashed to a water tower above the building where I work in Queens, bobbing in the South Pacific and floating above the Bosporus.
