Ok, so... On October 31st, 1992, after 2 full years of pushing and negotiating, I finally secured a screening of "Shock Treatment" to play with "Rocky Horror" for the big Halloween show (It was a triple feature, with the 1990 "Night of the Living Dead"... that I was an extra in). It put the entire cast into a craze. We had, like, a month and a half to put it all together. I don't think any of us knew just how tired we would all be after acting out 2 films in front of a movie screen.
The thing I remember most about the whole first time experience was Dan and I constantly bickering over the cage that Brad was kept in, in the film. I wanted to get a real cage and Dan wanted to use chicken wire. In the end we used neither. The cage was pantomimed (just as it should have been).
Seeing this footage 18 years on, I'm floored at how virtually everyone in the cast LOOKED like their on screen counterparts. There was a definite Karmic vibe going on. They did a fantastic job.
The Halloween show one year later was on a much more grand scale (an expanded cast and actual mini sets), but this one was really good, I think. It was the first time it played Pittsburgh and the first time a Pittsburgh cast tackled it and I think we all could feel how special it was. I'm proud of that time.
