I have one and I really do like it. It obviously doesn't perform like a reference audio system but it's one of today's well-tuned speaker systems that have some high power D-class amps, an intelligent EQ/DSP (a better loudness compensator and/or stuff like that), and well designed bass reflex ports.
@MrFastMuzic you are wrong. the new zeppelin air has its midrange farther apart. new zeppelin is better stereo sepration and more bass, and can handle higher volume.
sound quality is also improved thanks to 5 amps, while the old zeppelin had only three amplifiers.
it also has 3-inch midrange for better distribution of the sound.
@ande320 well, i have the original and my cousin have played music his hole life, and he just bout the old one too. the new one have cheeper units, while the old one have very expensive kevlar units. In the new one b&w have put the units closer to each other, and that's destroying the stereo-picture. the new one is smart, and it has a deeper bass, but the old one is much better!!!
Everyone who says the old one has more bass, must love bass heavy muddy sound - just picked up my zep on the weekend and if anything sometimes I need to turn the bass down a little!
Also - people who say "the old one sounds better" are clearly stupid - no person can tell another person one sounds better than the other, everyone has their own opinion on sound and quality.
That said it is an amazing dock, and isn't even in the same bracket as other docks to be honest - it's far far superior.
Just got mine, and it is beautiful in all respects. The sound is seriously unexpectedly clean, crisp, rich, warm, even at loud volumes without clipping despite the size of the device. Even at low volumes, I can still *feel* the bass tones without being overpowering. The DSP in it is really amazing and the 5 individual amps for the 5 speakers really shows at loud volumes. Tones sound like they are *scaled* to the response curves of each speaker/volume level as they are clean&balanced always.
@ande320 Hey hey hey man... You know, if your Zeppelin lacks in the bass, theres something wrong with your iphone man... Just cuz B&W comes up with an even better Zeppelin, you don't have to pick on the old one... It's still B&W...
Reminds me of Stewie... Or Arnold? Still want!
