This will work on all ps3 fat versions. For the top holes I used 3/8'' drill bit & for the bottom piece I used 3/16'' drill bit. I installed a 19 blade fan & Intercooler Cooling USB Fan; you can get the USB Fans form ebay. The 20-60GB ps3 Intercooler Cooling USB Fan are different from 40-160GB, make shore you buy the right one. I head the YOLD once & I fixit than I did this mode to it & never had any problems with my PS3 since that. Your PS3 will run cooler? For spacing I used ½'' plywood cut them 3'' long & 3/4'' wide put double sided Velcro tap & spray painted black.

  • If you clean your ps3 regularly you should have no problems with the dost. You can't not buy new fat version anymore from the stores, so i will not worry about it the warranty, My PS3 is still going strong & I playing Uncharted 3 all the time on line & no problems with my system.

  • Yes it will help if it is on the side off the hard drive.

  • @JuanCapuchino Or can you send a link? I cant find it.

  • @FullStrikeOG i thought obout the slim as well, go to the ps site, go to forums, do some research from ppl on what they said about em both, better yet, look for my name on there, i have set one up just for ''fat vs/or slim ps3''

  • @JuanCapuchino Yeah, i gonna start being more carefull with my ps3. But i didnt know about the yellow light before like a couple of months ago. Another solution os to buy a ps3 slim and transfer all the data to that one. I might do that intad.

  • @FullStrikeOG i played mine like 7 to 8 hours a day, i had it since 07, i never got the yellow light til last month, yea it turned off on me every other 3 months or so, well anyways, all the main heat is at the bottom, either buy the usb fans or just leave to top lid off, i wouldnt recommend it, but yet i still havent got the red light on the used one i got, or better yet, just get a small vacuum hose and clean the vents ever so often

  • talking about Ylod of deat i gotta just a thing taht,

    Great vid nicely done!\

  • @JuanCapuchino So what should i do? Btw i have had my ps3 for 3 years now, i even had it on all night once, because of a fucking long update. It even overheated and turned it self off twice 2 years ago. i have had it on for 5 hours many times. And still no yellow light, im starting to think that it wont ever happend.

  • sure it will keep it cool, but u r still attracting more dust directly to ur ps3

  • lol worst idea ever u get more dust and if u need repairs sony wont touch it
