This video shows the limits of fixed-function fog in OpenGL; the change in the apparent fog distance (and the difference between the runway and ground) are due to the limits of vertex-based fixed-funtion fogging. This kind of artifact can be fixed with a pixel shader.

  • Interesting how the landing platform disappears in the fog and the lights can be seen farther into the fog. Very realistic.
