Aims and Highlights of AORTIC 2011

Prof Gueye reflects on his presidency at AORTIC 2011 in Cairo and how the organisation has progressed since the last meeting in 2009 and the Dakar Declaration.

By developing partnerships with organisations in United States such as ASCO, ACS and NCI and adopting the Dakar declaration, which focus on the current state of African healthcare and its improvement, Prof Gueye is optimistic about the future impact that AORTIC will have in combating cancer in Africa.
