jimmy,s brother was my grandma,s daddy they owned davis brothers lumber in ansley louisiana i know live in jonesboro only a few miles from my home is the jimmy davis tabernackle

Ok, this may be wierd but Jimmy Davis is my Unlce OMG i know i just found out! i was pretty shocked my self. I am glad tho cause i have some one in my family that is famouse and i was always wounder why my Grandmay would always sing "you are my sunshine" and now i know why cause her uncle(Jimmy Davis) would always sing it. I was very disapointed cause i was suppose to go to a family reunion in 2000 to meet him but i was not able to and a year later he had died. I miss him

Just a bit of trivia. During WWII, Winston Churchill many times placed Bing Crosby's version of "You Are My Sunshine" on top of his favorites, and if memory serves, Bing sung it live for him a handful of times in person when Bing was in Europe doing shows for the troops. Bing's version of it, if not as "country" as Jimmie Davis' or Gene Autry's, still ranks in the pantheons of "country" music, AND pop, as one of the biggest hits of that era. Does anybody like it as good as I do? Just curious.

The Best. I love to run this one over and over because of the music and I can sing harmony along with them. My favorites. Love that Nobody's Darling But Mine there. Drew Shaw one of the finest pianist. Jimmie sure loved and enjoyed his playing. We sure do miss these men both Members of our Church-First Baptist Baton Rouge, LA. Loved hearing Dottie when she came down to sing. She one of earlist ones to show me the love of Jesus and responsible for me getting to know God.
