Title: "MP2 (Mascot Project/Microsoft Partnership)"
Teachers: Diane Heitzenrater, Stacy Rotchford & Valerie Fasy

Overview: The theme of the project focused on the design and selection of a new mascot for our middle school. Students used Microsoft Word to brainstorm ideas and write letters of recommendation to the principal, PowerPoint to create presentations promoting their mascot idea and Excel to create charts from surveys supporting their mascot choice. Microsoft Office Live Workspace was used to create, add and share their projects. Students will continue to use these tools throughout the school year.

Significant Results/Learnings: Students were inspired by using technology to create, design and promote their mascot ideas. The students collaborated with peers, teachers, administrators, parents and members of the Microsoft community while simulating a real-world design process.
