SFT - End of Tomorrow 1/3

Science Fiction Theatre was a syndicated science fiction anthology series. It was produced in the United States by Ivan Tors and Maurice Ziv.
Hosted by Truman Bradley, a 1940s film actor and former war correspondent, each episode introduced stories which had an extrapolated scientific, or pseudo-scientific emphasis based on actual scientific data available in the 1950s. The program concentrated on such concepts as space flight, frozen dinosaurs, robots, telepathy, flying saucers and time travel.
It ran from 1955 to 1957, with a total of 78 half hour episodes. It was also known as 'Beyond The Limits' in second run syndication during the 1960s and alternatively as 'Science Fiction Theater'.
"Science Fiction Theatre" was a forerunner of similar shows, such as The Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits.

I watched this show every Friday night right after Death Valley Days when I was in grade school. Black and white on a big Hoffman 21 inch TV. 1957-1958. I thought Truman Bradley was really smart, still do. SFT was sponsored by Chesterfield kings, but even doctors smoked back then so no one thought anything about it. It was a adult program, but I liked it because it was interesting to watch, plus the screwdriver stuck in the speaker was always funny to me. Well done show for the 50s.

I loved this show and the theme song really brings me back to my childhood in the 50's. Everytime I see the dish with the screwdriver I always think how silly this prop was, even when I was a kid.

I like the way the tv station in this episode was KVIZ--the last name of Maurice Ziv spelled backwards.

the bad guy is dabbs greer who played the part of an old tom hanks when he was in the retirement home at the beginning and the end of the green mile.
