If you like shallow depths of field, full frame is for you.

Take a 24-80mm f2.8-4 on a full frame camera. On DX (1,5 crop) you'd need a 16-53mm f1.8-2.5 (!) to get the focal length and the depth of field of the FX camera.

I don't want to imagine the cost and weight of such a DX-lens.

  • its not just the speed its how well the ai keeps up the it. the 7d is awsome i love mine

  • LOL U DONT NEED TO TEST, OF COURSE WE ALL KNOW THE 7D IS FASTER, IT IS 8 FPS, LOL :P

sorry about the caps, didnt' mean to :P

  • Canon 7D хуйня..... ass

  • @Frosty1962 Bit unfair on the 7D - note how much time the mirror stays down with the D700 at 5fps (the mirror phase is quick enough for 8 fps) compared to the 7D running at full tilt , the D700's AF is helped quite a bit by that.

Would probably like to see this with a longer zoom lens which needs more precise focusing to see the difference between the cameras.

  • What a waste of shutter life..

  • Another spam video

  • Why not equal things out and put a MB 10 battery pack on the D700 and get the 8 FPS with the D700 too? How about showing the shots of the burst modes in comparison @ 8 FPS on both? The 7D has a load of benefits but certainly not in the same class as the D700. If you had done the test with both at 8 FPS I would have more respect for your comparison between the 2 bodies. What exactly were you trying to accomplish with this comparison?

  • 700-400mm F/2.8 . well...

  • let the two camera's drop from a table and lets look what the damage is(like my little daughter did with my d700, luckly no damages as result) , i need a solid and reliable camera. lol

  • this video is comparing JUST the burst mode AI tracking, period. so stop comparing all the overall technical spec to the 2 cameras and ending up a canon vs nikon arguement.... as usual. it cracks me up seeing just comparing ONE feature can result a canon/nikon battle royale.... haha
