There were more similarities than differences between Dr. King and Malcolm X. Malcolm and Martin are often viewed as leaders on opposite extremes of the leadership spectrum. The two doctors are trying to show that the two men complement each other, influenced by each other, that they received impelling moral, spiritual and intellectual power from each other.

In part two of this video Dr. Al Hadid and Dr. Baldwin explain that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X complemented each other. They exlained that Malcol X's link to Islam alienated him from Dr. King in respects of religion but they came together in some of the descions in refference to blacks.
