This is very sad, to disown your family because you want to live as white...it had to be killing him on the inside, to live a lie, and hoping and praying daily, that no one will recognize you as a Black, and the family you came from...

@Einarr1989 The word was derived from the word "mule" for two reasons:
#1 A mule is the product of a horse and a donkey mating. The horse was meant to represent the "superior" Caucasion person, and the donkey the "inferior" African American person.
#2 A mule is a sterile animal. There was a sick belief, that a person of African American and Caucasian heritage is such an abomination in God's eyes, that they'd be born sterile, so that they'd be unable to pass on their "disgusting" genes.
