  • is there a moral to this? at first i thought of this as the climber risking his life to save the picture in order to prove to others afterwards that he did something great. but that isn't indicated in the video, so im going to assume its just me

  • @Mewshy Hey man, I'm glad you caught that. Yes, the intention was that he wanted to show it to the others in the village. He wanted that fame so much that he risked his life trying to save it. That's what happened.

  • Why must the greatest artistic expressions be depressing? This is a very nice video and I'm sure you made the grade, but this is exactly why I don't like "Great" literature.

  • Stories never stay the same as when they start out conceptually. With that, I'm telling you that this story changed a lot, it originally focused on the journey of him going up the mountain and planting the flag at the end...so yeah it didn't use to be a sad ending...

  • This looks just amazing. Your model, environment and FX kind of out shine the animation but it is overall really impressive. While it's better than what I could do... i think starting on the climb down he sorta loses his weight a little. But really, who could notice when it looks so beautiful. Kind of has the "Last Crusade" when Indy can't reach the cup. 5 stars!

  • Thanks man for all the kind words. Also yeah that climb down is the most effortless, weightless climb but if you read my reply to the comment above I explain why. I'm a huge fan of animation itself but I didn't want just one thing to look good. It was my thesis film so I felt like I wanted to show what I had learned in all 3D aspects. So sacrificing some time from the animation in order to make the film as a whole look as good as possible was what I wound up doing. Also, who doesn't love Indy?

  • Very good job making this animation... It shows many "climbers and hikers" who only care about summit and picture from the summit, and not climbing and hiking...

  • @Mewshy i too thought the same

  • At first I thought he would be able to save the camera, but he falls. Then someone finds the camera but it was useless for him.

But them he just fell. I loved the idea and the animation, but not like the ending very much. Just my opinion, of course. You did a marvelous job!

  • men these days risk anything to become famous that they firget the consequences that could happen

  • Great job this was awesomely suspenseful with a twang of meaning!

  • hey men I yust want to know what program did you use to make those projects in ringling?
