  • my heart goes out to all in Streator. My family originates from there

  • @chicagofan76 Yes indeed to any and all people who we affected by this storm. As incredible as it was to see the tornadoes that I did, it also sunk my heart to hear and see about the damage and fatalities :(

  • It was totally calm in Streator till about 5 minutes before the tornado hit. 20 minutes before it hit they rang the siren, and again about 5 minutes before it hit, the first time i didn't believe that they could be serious about there being a storm warning then I ran to my truck to get a flashlight and watched the storm cell come into town.

  • @sikofu2 Though I always took warnings and storms seriously before this event, I take them even more seriously now. Alot of tornadic storms never produce, but too many of them do and they happen so very quickly as I personally observed. Also was perfectly shown in the tornadoes that I got as they were quick hitting and lifting quickly as well. That could be the difference between one house being untouched and another completely destroyed from two homes literally neighbors to each other.

  • It was cool, we were in manteno, and right before the storm hit us, it was dead quite. It didnt hit us but down south we had poer flashes, it hit manteno around 10:00pm and Kankakee t around 10:10 but we didnt get the torado so ah

  • @Ethan07895 Never had that calm in the field, but then again I was in the inflow of this storm quite a bit

  • @bigtorque That's from the very intense rainfall that was in the storm. Likely some hail as well though I didn't run into any hail at all last night.

  • Tornados are bad enough but at night , cmon ! Not fair . 1st time Ive seen alot of purple in a red cell on the radar
