cut it in two, put them side by side, add stubby wings. you now have a hybrid airship with much greater portability, more lift, structurally stronger.

How do you build a Hyperblimp?
-
That is a sweet blimp -
Looks Fun to make and fly -
what type material do you use to make
the gas bag ?
I would like to learn about how to build
a blimp-
Is there a blimp making web site ?
Thanks-Jay-

Very impressive, just like the others. Believe I asked at another of your films, are there problems in the design as the ship is scaled up? Is there more problems in steering etc.

Can't recall on that ship. Most likely around 12"

Are you using classic RC controller or some sort of stabilizing electronics or even autopilot?
If it is standard how do you know how much it is banked during turn or is it upside-down? During sharp maneuvers you feel the steering, but after 1 min of relative inactivity you could make fatal mistake if disoriented...

There are is no auto pilot or stabilization on this one. It is using all standard RC equipment. These ships are designed to self level and right themselves automatically. It is really just proper ballancing so the heavier bottom half of the ship keeps it right side up after a maneuver.

Scaling up has its complications at times. We improove the design with every ship we build. Higher power motors caused some changes in the motor mount design to handle the large amount of torque but steering has never been a problem. Strength versus weight is always the struggle with airships.
