  • Is the speaker a square magnet 12" or alnico with a U shaped magnet?

  • @paulyscrate1 ...It is a Round magnet 12".

  • These are interesting amps. Rivera used a pair of electronic relays to switch gain stages in and out for the two channels. Clean channel is basically identical to a BF preamp. OD channel adds either one or two stages and is basically a Boogie pre. Lead tones are slightly raspy/honky but work well cranked up in a band context. Mid boost defeats the tone stack. Stock speaker is woefully underpowered but sounds great for cleans. Speaker upgrade is essential. Cabinet is bigger than a normal DR.

  • @1Doz Thanks for your helpful and knowledgeable addition to this page. I have opted to keep the original CTS speaker to keep the original design intact but I have swapped it out on occassion with Celestion and Eminence. The sound improvement was obvious. I think the original is only rated at 15watts. Not a good thing in a 22watt amp.

  • how many watts is it?

  • @benbrown4544 .....22watts

  • Nice demo man -:) nice sparkle tones coming outta that clean channel as well, here in the UK we have to pay over the odds for handwired fender amp (:- I have a little sf vibrochamp at the moment, but I have 3 strats, so I may trade one of the strats for another little amp, dr z are nice, but I am a fender type of guy lol I would trade marshal-vox & orange for fender anyday, but that is not going to happen, sure wish they would set a factory up in the UK

  • Nice tones!

  • @UKToneKing It is 20W amp.

  • is this amp 22w like the DR 1, it is a very clickey amp, which is what I like, I love that snappy clean country sound that U play in this demo, proper nice tone that man, I am in the UK and am trying to find a good SF DR or SF PR and get it shipped over here, as their are more for sale in the US, do U know anyone that is selling either one of the silverface amps ?

  • iv got one of these. if i play it with my strat with humbuckers in high gain i like the sound but if i play it with my strat pluse sss it sounds brittle so i use a tube screamer then i it sounds a little warmer. but i love the amp great for a band setting
