Act F.A.S.T., the successful public awareness campaign, which highlights the signs of stroke and the need to treat it as a medical emergency, will be back on TV from November.
In February 2009 the Department of Health launched a three-year campaign to promote public and health care professionals awareness of the signs of stroke and the need for emergency action. The campaign uses the mnemonic FAST Face, Arm, Speech, Time to call 999.
Results show exceptionally high awareness of the campaign after the first burst of activity earlier this year, and a significant improvement in the publics ability to spots signs of stroke.
