Train 240 Wellington - Auckland heading north just past the timber mill at Tangiwai, north of Waiouru New Zealand.

The intention was to get a good reflective shot but I only just got there in time so the tripod wasn't set up correctly. The camera is too close to the ground and the AF has focused on the immediate foreground instead of the train, also the shutter speed was too slow so it's a bit jerky. A potentially nice shot but too many things wrong for it to be used in any productions.

  • Cool vid. I like the reflection i the puddle. Awsome.

Thanks. As soon as I got to this location I realised the potential for a reflection shot so set the camera up at ground level. I think the water mucked up the autofocus - either that or I had the shutter speed set too slow - can't remember - but it is out of focus.

  • Dilemma of the railfan, when the service seems to be faster than expected. Good clip all the same, keep up the good work!
