yes if the engine starts it's not gonna do anything but, for one, why would the engines just start randomly? Remember, the engines have to be started from the cockpit. Also, you're comment doesn't just say "What if the engine starts," it also says "Does it really have a purpose," as i said in my other comment, it obviously does.
