http://www.facelessfatloss.com I always prefer to get my nutrition from food sources whenever possible, but there are times when supplements can be very beneficial to our needs. During times of illness and/or injury, they can not only be helpful, but just about vital to speeding recovery and managing symptoms during that time.

I use green smoothies almost daily, which I cover in my program, and will elaborate on to an extent here in a future video. I cycle the rest of my supplements to a large extent, but will get on a regular program of organic green powder (I reference this on my website) as my "multi-vitamin," and if I feel the need due to immune system issues or recovery issues, will add a whole-food B complex as well as E complex.

Cod liver oil is a favorite during winter. Since I live in the Northeast, and in one of the cloudiest cities in the nation next to Seattle, we are very prone to "SAD" up here, aka Seasonal Affective Disorder. Cod liver oil and my preferred method of obtaining Vitamin D...via tanning with emphasis on UVB exposure...can and does make a world of difference in taming this beast that can really impact my mood. So much so, that since discovering these paths, I am virtually unaffected by it.

I'm not much a fan of free-form amino acids, although they can have their place under certain applications and unquestionably can "work" as far as results go. What I always do whenever I take only one or two independent aminos, is to couple it with a natural protein source whenever possible. Some research shows that glutamine specifically will "compete" with other aminos in, for example, a whey supplement. So I may take that specific amino about a half hour or more away from using my whey.

And again, only on occasion, and for specific purposes. There is no question that glutamine can dramatically assist in muscle recovery efforts. The effects are so pronounced that it's no wonder it's a very popular supp on the bodybuilding circuit.

I referenced several other supps only in passing, since it would require so much more time to go into the uses and benefits of each. I do cover the silver, whey and magnesium in several other videos.

This is a huge topic that I can expand on almost indefinitely, with all the continued research that never ends on the use of supplementation. I will continue to cover bits and pieces over time.

    I have 90% cured my inguinal hernia without surgery but it has taken over 2 yrs.

  • Your skin is paper thin. I really appreciate (over the years now, I guess) your consistency. You never change your mind and get stupid big. Always cut and healthy looking. Nice tan.
