That lever actually lowers to D#, or Eb, not D.

If you've played guitar for more than a few years, and you are intrigued by the pedal steel... TRY IT! I just decided last month to start looking into it, and now I've bought one and I'm now totally hooked. Mick's vids are the greatest... I'm half way into learning White Xmas and just in time for the holidays. Oh yea, and there are a few country songs for the steel too.

Thanks so much for posting these videos!!! Your teaching method is so clear and easy to understand...if only my feet, hands, fingers, knees, bar and volume pedal could keep up with my head!

Thanks for this real nice arrangement. Can't wait to get working on it. You refer to the D lever what most books call the E lever? (lower the E strings to D) I guess if the lever that raises the E to F is called then F lever, then D lever makes more sense.
Man, I'd need a masters in Music Theory to play this thing. I love the sound but it would take me the rest of my life to learn this instrument. Hats off to you guys that can play one of these.
