@alanhowitzer The problem with China is their economy grow too fast. the number of cars increase too fast but the new roads can not catch up. If you don't want to get stuck on the road to work for 5 hours you have to be fast. Many people think China is a police state but look around there are no policemen at all, yes China needs more policemen as well.

Automobiles are a symbol of status and quality of life, only poor people hate cars because they can't afford them. Too much pedestrians plus few cars is a disgrace.

Hey jixi is pretty close from where I came from, I used to live in linkou (林口县) before I came to North America. Most of my relatives are there too.

I know the spot, nearly had a smash in a Taxi who skidded in the snow on the road. To the girls at the Jixi Xian Hotel near the station, i miss you all.

Those drivers looked really impatient, especially with pedestrians. To all the people building cities in China, don't follow the lead of the US please! Build pedestrian friendly cities, instead of automobile dependent ones that considerably lower quality of life.
