  • Balls to u

  • I have been looking for Jims Cave on the internet forever, I used to live in Clayton when I was a kid and went there all the time! Now I'm in Tahoe so its hard to go back

  • Forgot to mention 9 kids have lost their lives in the mines. 4 in 1980 tinyurl /ycf4y6g and 5 in 1950s.

  • Very nice. When I was a student in the 80s at UC Berkeley we spent a semester excavating the town. We found lots of artifacts including the stove from the hotel. Ive been to the Black Diamond mines since the park service took it over. The sad part was none of the park rangers I spoke to knew much about the towns around the Black Diamond mines.

  • the eureka slope is AWESOME

  • Very nice tour of area. I use to visit this area well before it was a park in the early 1970's. I see parts of it have not changed much. At that time cattle use to make their way inside of the Rose Cemetary chain link fence and scratch their backs on the markers. I guess that's what tipped most of them over. Again, thanks!
