Maxima is catholic:)

Willem-Alexander and Maxima walked into the church together for a couple reasons; One, they were already married. Their civil wedding was earlier that day, I believe. Two, in many European countries, it is the custom for the bride and groom to walk into the church together anyhow. So had the first point not been true, the second one would have come into play.

@nastykurtbadboy No, that is an Anglo Saxon tradition. In most European countries the bride and groom are already married when entering the church. The only legal wedding is the one in the town hall. The religious one is merely ceremonial.

@Queen8181 her father is a damn murderer didn't you know? you should read up on argentian history her father was the minister of agriculture. It wouldn't be appropriate to allow such a figure at this PROTESTANT wedding. Have a nice day....

@nastykurtbadboy - this is a Protestant wedding in the true Dutch fashion not some southern european katholic wedding.
-
@ankem1988 - yes... and it is a Protestant wedding. :-)

@robbieatnsudotcom - It's NOT a bishop it is a Protestant Minister.

@JessRulz This is always the case that the couple enters the church together in the Protestant church. Nothing to do with the absence of here parents.
em ? doesn't it normally the father of the bride who should escort her daughter to the aisle? or is this the practice in dutchy royal's wedding?

Princess Maxima's parents did not attend the wedding due to controversy regarding her father's political past. Thus, Prince Willem-Alexander and Princess Maxima entered the church together.
