@246trinitrotoluene -No one takes away their mastery of the instrument, but on repeated hearing they are totally "without Viennese charm " that is a requisite . Not wanting to

imitate Kreisler they seem to have gone the other direction . For good example hear

Marta Eggerth sing at 90 -Vienna city of her dreams - from whom

these two could take a good

lesson in music making .But if you are without charm nothing can be done no matter how you try to fake it .

i really wanted to call you out with the "you play it better" ... but I kind of have to agree.

for professionals performing this on a grand stage, i felt like I was on a roller coaster with the tempo going far too quickly at times (masterful bowstroke, but unnecessary, and borderline inappropriate). The piano, which is pure accompaniment in this piece decided to take charge a couple of times, which also made the piece lurch...

A top 5% performance, but you're right really needed more.

This is a delicious performance--both violin and piano. They make a fabulous duo. This is really creative music making.
