then tell me who build anything around a river dam anyway? if you want house on a river, build it upstream. if you want a business up river, build it upstream. leave nature like it is. no reason to urbanize the river, what are inner city morons gonna use it for other than to litter in it anyway?

storage capacity of the river channel is reduced by the elevated height of the dam pool in direct correlation to the height of the dam. The gorged out nature of the river from Bailey Rd to the Chuckery Area of Cascade Park prevents increased flow spilling out of the channel. Its only when there are flood plains (non-gorge areas) that increased flow will cause flooding as the river is no longer restricted.

So what you are saying is the the removal of the 2 dams upstream caused additional precipitation in the watershed that resulted in flooding? Sounds like solid science to me! Yeah right! All the dams on this river have NO impact on whether or not the river floods. Since there is no mechanism to release water from the dam pools (no gates on any dams), all water flowing into the dam pool flows over the dam and downstream. If anything these dams can create flooding since the storage capacity ..

bye bye lowhead dams!
AMAZING!!! I saw last night a show on TV how BEAVER DAMS in creeks and rivers CREATE NEW HABITAT and CONTROL FLOODING. Why is the BEAVER CELEBRATED and MAN , who is even better than the beaver, IS DEMONIZED???
