  • Jim Minor owned Colt "45" Records of Flint, MI 1959. Artists on the label were: Connie Dycus, Eddie and Don, Paul and Larry and Donna Chrysler. Jim Minor published Narvel Felts, Jimmy Edwards, Connie Dycus and Vada Belle and Alice Berry through Mercury Records all in the 1950s all rockabilly. Jim played on the Grand Ole Opry Oct. 1961

  • Jim Minor has all kinds of demos and stuff that would do good in today's country music. He has some old demos that never made it on a record. Songs like Lucky Strike, The Playhouse, The Moon My Guitar and You, Dixieland Lullaby, Ballad of Beverly Hill, A new Star is Born and others. These tracks have already been transferred to cd. Jim will decide which and if any of these go on youtub

  • the old jackson prison is scary as hell, old cobble stone walls. they now turned it into apartments, HAHA. i told some guy in toledo that did 20 yrs in there about that and all he did is shake his head.

theres a new song on the radio that talks about detroit and jackson prison, does anyone know what it is?

  • great song, I just left 9 block in jackson prison, them jackson prison bars are a bitch!!! looking through them gives you new outlook on life, thats for sure.

  • does anyone have the lyrics typed out ?

  • This was the first time ever hearing this song. I can honestly say that I can appreciate it very much. My grand father moved to detroit in the early 60's to work the lines installing tailights @ a Gm factory. I myself spent 3 1/2 years behind the ole wall in jackson...Kind of reminds me of a old Johnny Cash style outlaw type of music...Thanks for posting...
