I have recently re-discovered "Hazel". We used to watch it when I was a kid, but I was too young to really appreciate Shirley's performance. The episodes I've been watching on YouTube have been cracking me up. But, most of all, I just want to say that Miss Booth seemed like such a sweet lady. You could tell she was a truly wonderful person. A kind and loving person. We were blessed to have her.

@phlashba Absolutely one of my favorite performances. The phone call to her mother after she leaves Doc in the hospital is worthy of an Oscar by itself.

Booth's acting was magical in Come Back Little Sheeba. The down side is that she made Lancaster look like a rookie. She was THAT good

I am looking at Hazel now. I never realized that Shirley was that good an actress. Also she is an Anglo dominated in industry by Jewish actors these days.

In "Come Back Little Sheba". Shirley Booth gives one of the top ten greatest performances ever by an actress in a motion picture. She is absolutely heartbreaking.
Does anyone know if there is any film of her winning the Oscar?
