Ah, love the 'daks. I live a bit downstate from there near the Catskills, but I head up as often as I can. The high peaks are something to climb, I tell ya.

Back in the early 90s I spent two weeks in the Adirondack's High Peaks. Ive gone on to trek in beautiful mountains all over the world: parts of the Rockies, southern Appalachians, in Hokkaido, and in Nepal. Stunning places to be sure - but for me, the High Peaks of the Adirondacks is still the most magical of all - its like something out of Tolkien.
