This guy has made money telling people basically that unpredictable things will happen? That's only brilliant in a culture were ones life is as regimented and planned as ours.

Interesting! Brilliant guy! Current risk management and economic analyses methods fail us in such a system because of low predictability. What should we do in such an environment? At the IMD OWP 2010, Nassim Nicholas Taleb will present simple rules (lower leverage, less reliance on deficit spending, less mathematical risk management) for a black swan robust economic system.

Brilliant speaker. We live in a complex system that delivers extreme deviations.

Does anyone understand how to invest at Unversia to take part in this ' black swan' investing? Where do you buy this investment? Thanks.....

The sad part about this guy is that the black swan book doesn't say anything new ,but since everyone was caught up in the whirlwind of charlatanism, and basically drank Greenspan's koolaid. He comes across as brilliant (which he is)

It looks like he's betting on volatility or something in which case really good or really bad events are good for his strategy.
Now, this is real hot stuff. Met the guy once and he's brilliant. By all means. He started to doubt as a kid, whenever he heard the Lebanese expression "mich ma'oul" (not possible). Thanks to him, I didn't lose my shirt in the last months! Merci ktir! (private joke).
