Some sort of squeak coming from the engine bay by the pulleys. Tried WD40 and tightening/loosening the belt but no luck.

  • I have this same issue. I wonder if there was a recall on it? also once you replaced the harmonic balancer did you have any other issues?

  • def your idler pulley, aka tensoner.. i have the same car and actually lost the pulley on i4. its a real pain in the ass to find a new idler pulley. i know this vid is kinda old but i figured id throw in my two cents

  • Yeah Dude, I changed my belts last month and discovered my harmonic balancer (crank shaft pulley) was fucked.

    Here's the test: If you take all of the belts off of the pulley and it still spins freely of the crankshaft, its toast. You might see little bits of rubber coming out of it too.

  • I can tel you right now that that noise is your harmonic balancer and crank shaft pulley.
