homemade 390mg (0.39g) r/c plane flight video. controls are proportional throttle and rudder. uses the micro brushless motor i posted about a while ago ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cm0h2Qf3upQ&feature=channel_page ). flight times are about 4 min. it uses a 8.5mah li-po single cell battery, IR control, and magnetic actuator for rudder control.

this was the lightest known plane in the world but got beaten by one weighing 225mg! don't believe it? http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=961876

  • ok, that's for this plane (light as feather). but what about some planes say about 500-700g.... or so?

  • for planes that much (where this one is 0.39g) you can buy larger radio frequency transmitters and receivers from a bunch of r/c websites: tower hobbies, horizon hobby, etc...

  • what remote are u using? something from some other toy or something homemade?

  • Homemade IR transmitter/receiver. Everything on this plane is custom. Any single component I could get out of a toy would probably weigh more than the entire weight of the plane.

  • Fantastic I wish I had your skills in micro rc ,truely impressive

  • two word on the batteries solar pannels

  • The receiver is custom made 2-channel IR. Motor is single phase brushless with a carbon composite prop. I would say the battery was from a bluetooth headset.

  • I hope the priest doesnt fart because that would be turbulent lol

No seriously great job, you are changing the future of rc :-)

  • do you play that with a supercapacitor?

  • Wow, Neat!

  • Awesome! Is it possible to someday make a plane like this with the size of a fly?Oo

  • so cool! it's an insect!

  • Fantastic!

    It's like a dragonfly.
