The South Korean Government is constructing a naval base on Jeju Island. Officially named an "Island of Peace" by the late President Roh Moo Hyun, Jeju was the site of a 1948 massacre in which more than 30,000 civilians were estimated to have been slaughtered during a democratic uprising.

Located strategically in the Korea Strait, the island's potential to become a military target in the event of an armed conflict in this tense region would increase exponentially with the addition of a naval base. The threat this poses to the men, women and children of Jeju Island is unconscionable, and it can be avoided through halting the base construction.

  • before making such a vid like this

tell China not to invade Korean islands

There is No peace if theres no power especially with Chinese pigs

and theres no reason for Korea to consider peace where Chinese pigs are showing their fangs over all asia

  • @HeavenLovePark You are dreaming. Police can't protect our territory and sea against well-trained regular military. International dispute?? Do you think China care about international dispute? other countries? Look at Chinese government official statement over Chinese fisherman incident. They told Korean Government not to use weapons against ilegal fishermen, That is how Chinese government look at Korea.

Peace and freedom don't come free.

  • @songkyunghan I-Eo Do is not island. And you need to distinguish between the role of the maritime police and the navy. For I-Eo Do, the power of the maritime police should be expanded. And an international dispute should be settle down by diplomacy not by the power of the navy.

  • @HeavenLovePark You are an anti government activist. No comments for you.

Naval base will be built for Koreans to protect I-Eo Do in the future against China. US doesn't care about our I-Eo Do. Why do they for small little island?? We need to be prepared for anything.

Do not expect China will act as we hope. They will try to control and influence Korea with their increasing power. It is impossible to be balanced. Be smart.

  • @songkyunghan Is this naval base for US or South Korea? your explaination is too naive. Let it be whether Chian and US fight or not. Korea needs to balance between them. Don't do stupid action.

  • @MsSnowblood I don't agree with your opinion. We do have threats over Korean island in South China sea. US government believes Korea is one of important partners in Asia and we are ally with blood. China is trying to expend their power and influence over neighbor countries by increasing military power. If you don't see this, either you are a Chinese or just anti-Korean government activist.

  • @songkyunghan It is not important for Korean security, it's important for US fucking military forces who still believe Korea is their colony and want to piss off China!

  • Jeju island is very important for Korean security. Everyone loves peace and nature of the Island, however, we, South Koreans face future threats from two strong countries. We need that island to protect our freedom and democracy.

  • Love this. Save Jeju Island!

  • Make a Base way out in the ocean instead of on land.... Ridiculous to ruin such a place.....
