I remember being a big fan of Robert Englunds character from the V movies and series, which I think started before the Nightmare series. I remember being surprised that he was the same guy playing Freddy.

Male adolescence? Hell, I have been a huge horror fan, including a huge Freddy fan, since I was a little girl. And long before adolescence. :) Like Bob Shay says to Heather in "New Nightmare"- "Kids love horror!" And there have to be more female horror fans out there than are fessing up.
