I remember a liitle white shirt I saw a couple of year ago at Barneys.
It was a deceptively simple white cotton buttoned down, man's-collar number.
Upon closer inspection however it revealed the touch of a master. The front panels had what looked like darts running from the bust line to the side seams in a biased zig-

zagging pattern. when turned inside out, the darts had not been just straight-sewn separately but had been pleated in an origami -ike design that seem to defy the limits of fabric-sewing.
It was at that momnet when I understood the architecture behind Narciso Rodriguez creations and why his clothes look so perfectly constructed and effortless.
Narciso your are a GENIUS!!!!
