@sbsuser: Yes, that's right. But an American Youtuber claims that it was his father and Miguel Velarde Sr who created "Dahil Sa Iyo". Please look for Scythe214 channel.

@videokeking2009 I haven't seen the original, and there's no way that I could see it but I'm sure it's 100 times better than Amalia Fuentes' version. poor copycat.

@philclassic Hi! I don't know about it but I made a research and according to CCP encyclopedia, Dahil Sa Iyo was composed by Mike Velarde Jr. It did not mention about his father.

@videokeking2009: Thank you for the clarification. Somebody should correct the wrong information at the Wikipedia which says that the 'Bituing Marikit' movie was made in 1938.

@sbsuser : Thanks for the info. Some online sources states that the movie "Bituing Marikit" was made or published in 1938. Which is the correct year? A Youtuber claims that "Dahil Sa Iyo" (a song featured in that movie) was composed by Mike Velarde Sr. and not Mike Velarde Jr. Can you verify or confirm this allegation? Salamat!

@philclassic yes, there was a remake of Bituing Marikit starring Amalia Fuentes and Juancho Gutierrez, i think. The original 1937 movie was destroyed during WWII. I've never seen the original, but I didn't like Amalia Fuentes' version.
