  • No lincense is required. An insurance policy is required. The standard rental is daily or weekly

  • That sucks! I read that before! But aren't there other motion picture film cameras by other brands you can buy to keep?

  • Yes. Companies like Arri, Aaton and Moviecam sell their equipment. But often in the past, it has been a better investment to rent because of its convience. Although, I wouldn't mind owning a camera, ownership has its downsides as well.

  • i wondering are these cameras for sale or are they only rented out?

  • Panavision Cameras are not sold and only available for rental.

  • So this is what Inception was recorded with? Crazy.... I goto csun as a student and currently trying to get into the film program. Is Avid what the professionals edit with today? Or is FinalCut? Just curious because from what I've heard, my school is teaching only Finalcut, but not 100% sure. Any help on what the professional industry uses for cameras/editing would be nice. =]

  • I don't even want to think about how much that would cost per minute.

  • Thats a fat slice of film. Hope film never goes away.

  • Arri 16 systems are the best to own as an independent

  • Actually, it's 65mm film shot horizontally.

  • And this is just regular 70mm by the looks of it Imax is 70mm film shot horizontal.

  • hey hey hey, im a fresh assistant director& it seems like ive been looking since forever for some tutorials like this one, but at the end i just realised that instead of watching carefully what the guy was doing i found my self watching the huge drum set behind!!!!!

should i giveup for my future career as a second assistant or picking up my guitar and forming a heavy metal band : ) ???

  • pretty complex camera.
