The Decemberists: Billy Liar (04/20/07 in Madison, WI)

The Decemberists performing Billy Liar at the Orpheum in Madison, WI on April 20, 2007. When I heard the song start, I tried to get my camera up and recording as fast as I could (it's one of my favorite songs). However, quite sadly, I was not fast enough and missed the first few seconds of the song. So, this recording is missing: "Billy Liar's got his hands in his pockets." You can kind of here the end of "pockets" right at the start of the video. Quite sad about the missing few seconds, but it was quite the amazing performance. So here it is!

Yo muffin, did you have standard movie mode on for this? Or any special settings on? I just bought an SD1000 and want to have a solid configuration for when I go to concerts, so the pictures will be real nice-like :)

Just standard movie mode for this, with the highest fps and size settings. I haven't experimented much with changing settings in the movie mode other than the simple stuff, so it can probably get a lot better than this. Good luck!

oh man. the only downside to seeing this show is that now their songs never sound as good as they did live.

I was at this concert and I've never had so much fun in my life. They really know how to put on a show :)

I've seen them the last two times they've been in Madison and both shows definitely rank in the top 5 of all the concerts I've been to in terms of fun. Just about the only band that has beat them in involving the crowd and making it a good time was Flaming Lips.

omg haha i did the same exact thing this past summer, and i recorded it missing the first few seconds after hearing it play as well. one of my favorites and i was so excited when i heard it play. :) i finally uploaded mine too

oh.we did wait in line for about 2 hrs, so you know... being hardcore early has advantages
