Dire Straits - Sultans of Swing solo improv by Mike Dunne (Chapter VIII)

Hey guys, thanks for watching.. im Mike Dunne, im 17 and im a guitarist from Birmingham UK. A play for quite a few bands around atm including my own funk band Chapter VIII (check out the other vids of them).

My number 1 hero has to be Mark Knopfler and this is my tribute to him --- this isnt an exact copy of the original solo but snippets of Knopfler's style against the backing track. Thanks

Come on admit it, you learnt it all from me.... Ok, maybe not. Really nice touch, some Knopfler 'inspired' people just don't get it. I think you do. If you're ever in London let me know, jam sesh for sure. Really good.

What scale do you use? Natural minor?

@andreu1616 yeh there are elements of natural minor, pentatonic and small hints of diminished runs but tbh I don't think of it like that.. i listen to the chords and try to compliment them in a knopflerish way

once i closed my eyes i heard Mark playing at his best - got goose bumps all over and a bright smile on my face - you really play the best interpretion of Marks solo, i've heard her on UT -
