  • please keep the davis sisters coming please post I don't know what i'd w\o the lord

  • Can't make any promises because of my schedule.

  • what year was this recorded mid or late 50's

  • This was recorded on July 1959 and not necessarily on the Clefs Anniv. Could have been just a gimmick from the record company. Then again, maybe they were on the anniv.

  • thank you for the post .great song never heard them sing it like this before.keep posting more from this album....lets hear more from the davis sisters and the gospel harmonettes...can't wait

  • I have a couple thousand albums and I'll be posting sometime this week.

  • i miss the version with Lelia Royster,,she walked that song

  • Great song!

  • This great song done by three of the greats Imogene Green, Jackie Verdell, and later Lelia Royster all hits at their respective times.

  • Beautiful memories .... had dinner at their home in Philly along with none other than the late, great James Cleveland and The Cleveland singers: Clyde, Odessa, Roger and Charles. All but Clyde have made their transition. Although Cleveland changed singers this particular group had it's own unique and never to be matched again sound.

  • OHHHH man I LOVE these saaaanging ladies.....Ruth and Jackie could wear you out!

  • I knew it!!!! every time i heard the RAYLETTE's,,I said this is almost a carbon copy of the DAVIS SISTERS...but better yet, could you imagine.....what if the SISTERS had backed up Ray during the mid-fifties, when both were at their peak........Now, that would have been something.

  • HE SURELY DID HE EVEN SAID IT!

  • this is pure flat foot gospel squalling at its best. anyone with an ear can clearly see where ray charles got his inspiration for the raylettes, its unmistakable. Ray did his home work and clearly patterned his back up singers on the DAVIS SISTERS.

  • sing it Ruth!!!
