That's how to do it..............I love when homeowners try to do both sides together.
They usully give up and drink beer.

I just started the drywall on my small 12x12 addition on my house and got the ceiling up and the first coat/tape on,Will be starting on the walls in the morning and you just answered a couple of questions i had. I also like that you understand that some of us have to make do with what tools we have and even if its going to be a little more work we are willing and able to do so to get the job done. Ya never know, Santa might bring me a wider putty knife this year, hahaha.
Thanks again,,Rob

fantastic video! Thank you for the post. I do all sorts of remodeling and I have to tackle drywall from time to time. I am by no means a pro at it, but this video is helping me improve the craft. Thanks again!
Isn't the corner more likely to crack when you do each side of a corner on a different day? I am not trying to be a smart ass, i am asking your opinion. To me it seems like it would lose the strength of having continuous mud that continously dries thru the whole corner which would make it more likely to crack than if both sides were mudded together. I guess what i'm really asking is: have you seen corners crack using this system or is it just as good? thanks :)

@TheAxecutioner the only reason it will crack is if you leave too much mud right in the corner as the mud will shrink and crack. this goes for any application. the key is to sand down the corner to where you almost expose the tape right in the corner. experience will tell you when its just right.

thanks for this videos !
how many coats you need?
1 coumpond and paper next day ...
2 first coat no sadning
3 day second coat
4 day sanding thats correct?

@vxAREKxv pre fill any gaps in the seams then tape. You can first coat the same day. Second coat the next day and if completely dry you may finish coat the next day. If no pinhole are visible you can sand.

@TheCactus71 You can't do 2 coats, or else your beads won't b filled properly, and if you do you have to use thicker mud, also u gotta make sure ur bevel tapes fill in th ebevel completely, or else there'll be hollows spots. And you don't have to prefill, if you know what your doing. First coating the first day only applie if everything is dried properly from tapping, which 9/10 times the tape is still wet, if and if u coat while it's still wet it'll shrink that much more.

@dingdong009 it is easy to totally fill a bead in 2 coats. the key is setting the bead tight against the corner where less fill is required. it does three things: uses less mud, drys faster and makes base trim look straighter.
