Resolution: Windowed
Renderer: Direct 3D9(Hardware)
Shader: Pixel Shader 3.0
Interlacing: None
Aspect ratio: 4:3
D3D Internal res.: I just checked the native box
SW Rend threads: 1
Texture filtering and alpha correction is checked

CPU config:
All boxes on the left side are checked
On the right side VUskip is checked
Detailed settings:
Custom FPS: 50 for PAL games, 60 for NTSC games
Skip frames when slower than: 45 for PAL, 55 for NTSC

BIOS:
For PAL games:
Europe 2001 (English language)
Europe 2004 (Other European languages)

For NTSC-U games:
USA 2004

For NTSC-J games:
Japan 2000

a VERY VERY useful tip:

PCSX2 0.9.6 runs much faster in Fullscreen mode
To set the emulator in fullscreen:

1. Go to Config, then click graphics.
2. Set the resolution to 640 x 480 60hz then click Ok.
3. Go to Config again, then click controllers (Make sure that you are using lilypad plugin)
4. Uncheck the "hide on fullscreen escape, then click OK.

That's it! =)

I've compared PCSX2 0.9.6 with the newer version (currently 0.9.8) and used the same settings, and I found out that PCSX2 0.9.6 runs much faster. And that is why I use PCSX2 0.9.6 =)

UPDATE: I've upgraded my system to Windows 7, which has DirectX 11, so I changed the renderer in the graphics plugin from Direct3D9 (Hardware) to Direct3D11 (Hardware)
