Silent Hill 4 (test) speedrun pt. 1d

I did a test speedrun showcasing my strategies. Final time: 55 minutes 36 seconds.

Notes:
- Easy-mode, new game
- I use continue abuse quite a lot. If I make too many mistakes, I quick reset and 'continue'. No time is lost doing this. The failed attempts have been edited out of these clips.

---

0:06 - a glitch: you can run through toadstools a short while after getting hit by one.

0:17 - oh noes! My steel pipe was stolen. (doesn't matter)

0:59 - took Axe "just in case".

4:55 - in the actual run, this room should be manipulated to have to squash as few snails as possible. (zero is an option, but rare)

6:35 - it's useful to manipulate this scene to only have to pick up the required torn red paper instead of any other memos (reading them only waste time).

7:45 - I saved here mainly to compare times, but it can also serve a purpose for manipulating the hospital rooms (which are set as you enter the world for the first time). Time so far: 00:22.

Huh, I learned something new about this game today. I didn't realize that Gum Heads could steal your stuff. Is it just weapons that they take? I guess I should have figured since you can pick up their stuff when you kill them. Also, yeah, it's too bad that the hospital has randomly generated doors in that hallway or you could feasibly make this whole run in a single segment (with a lot of luck, of course). It would probably take thousands of tries to get those doors to line up right.

I once tested all the things they could steal. They mostly steal weapons, although some weapons (like handgun or axe) they will never steal. To my surprise they could also steal your holy candles and attack you using them.

Right now I'm concentrating on SH4. I'll be updating the FAQ but not playing the game (much) indefinitely.
