This is the completed songlist for my personal pad pack, Gensokyo Holiday (just in time for the holidays, see what I did there?). Originally, this was only going to be a mini pack released late summer/early autumn with about 8 songs, celebrating the new releases from Comiket 76 (Touhou 12 and 12.3, primarily, using songs from the OST's), along with maybe a few files which had been sitting around unreleased on my computer for a good year or so. But, the pack suffered delay after delay, and when I finally found the time to start working on it again, I decided to round the pack out with a wider song list. A few months later, this is what I come up with.

While the pack is Touhou themed (obviously), I still aimed for diversity on all fronts; the musical styles, the difficulty spectrum, and the style of the stepcharts. The pack has 25 songs, ranging from hardstyle to acoustic flamenco, from short 9's to lengthy 14's, and from simple straightforward files to more gimmicky, experimental types. All of the stepcharts, novice through expert, are written by me (although, as a forewarning to non-expert players, most of my attention was focused on the expert charts).

Anyway, consider this my little Christmas present to all of you. Happy Holidays! ;)

Special thanks go out to ChaosAngel092, KakashiMr, and Myonbel for finding some great music for me to step!

  • Love the music selection but i fear that usermade steps are just too disappointing to me...

They all have the same finger rolling combinations, What happened to tricky steps like Cartoon Heroes (from DDR) if you know the song you know what i mean.

  • I know the song, but I don't get what you mean. The song's mostly pretty simple 8th note patterns with some 16th gallops. There's a few step-jumps and like 2 backwards facing 8th notes (which everyone just double-steps anyways), but the song's only a 9 anyway...

  • try it on your feet?

well in contrast to that song, So Deep is IMO much easier, more arrows, but much easyer. this is what usermade steps look like to me

eg. of something tricky (?) somewhere between combo 200-222

seeing 'double up arrow up-right, left, up-down, up, left-right hold for 1/8th beat (for flare)

Im just 1 person, probably played SM for too long and moved on. again though, Awesome music choice and impressive that you did all the steps.

  • I rarely play things not on pad (these videos were a pretty rare case). And I think my record on Cartoon Heroes on DDR Extreme 2 PS2 probably has single digit greats.

If you're talking about jump streams, you REALLY have to be careful how they're used. There's a thin line between making a chart difficult and making a chart awkward, and overusing jumps is a good way to ruin a perfectly good chart.

  • ScootyBiscuit, I'm getting a CRC error on Interdimensional Voyage of a Ghostly Passenger Ship.ogg, could you check please? And the filefront mirror is no longer working. Thank you! :]

  • Downloaded the pack, Love the song choices :)

  • @GrayPhantom13 you no fkn sense man

  • I'm going to say you enjoy this more than I and thats all that should matter. all I want to portray is I enjoy a variety not spamming it though. In my previous eg. that would be the only one i have for this song.

To me its like visiting Alaska, cold but beautiful. You wanna take pictures of the snow and dead trees.. you get back and realize if you see one of your own pictures- you seen em all. Thus I dont play on the keyboard anymore, just in the arcade the once a month I do nowadays.

  • This makes me so happy. =)
