My Nexus One has been having issues registering the exact position of my touch. I been using the phone for a week now and the temporary solution was to put the phone to sleep mode then back on again or change orientation of the screen. Not sure if its a hardware or software issue. Theres a whole discussion on Google forum http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Google+Mobile/thread?tid=04134c63c78425... with other people having this problem. I already ordered a replacement phone from HTC and will update the post then.
The same problem

I had this problem in the past... btw, this is Big Button app... It happens when you long-press the key and shift it away where it should be.. To restore it, just restart the phone to reset at default... nexus one..

@TheRealPerson Do you have a Nexus One? I do, and I get key mis-reads all the time. The most annoying is pressing the speakerphone button in a call and instead, the # button is pressed. They aren't even in close proximity, they are separated by a whole button at almost half an inch away. I'd understand if it accidentally registered the button beside it, but not a button 2 buttons away. Another problem is sometimes it double presses a button while I'm dialling.

@TheRealPerson You are an idiot, aren't you? The Nexus One has a very bad touch screen, there were hundreds of posts even on official Google blogs. There are issues with the touch screen, and different ppl have different issues.

@uview1000 He just programmed the keyboard to do that, which would be relatively easy to do since android is open source.
Notice how he is always pressing the same key, and when he accidentally presses the "D" it works fine.

I have recently purchased N1 and just knew about this accidentally. I am concerned about my new phone having the same problem and if yes I hope i can replace or change a different model. Can someone let me how you ran into this problem. i didn't see it happening yet so far but this really bothers me.

send it back and get a new one. i love this phone but the reason i havent gotten it yet is because of the touch sensitive buttons. how stupid are those, seems like you can accedentally hit those all the time.
there aint nothing like real buttons.
