  • Ha! Look at the Detail Police go crazy. I love it.

  • my battery seems over discharged and its a little puffy like squishy to the touch but not by sight can any 1 help me i realy want my skyrider in the air.

  • Send me an email and we can get it figured out! - Dave

  • Question: If the 1250 mAh represents run time, how long does that translate to approximately in minutes? Thanks. This is an unbelievably informative video.

  • Just like a gas engine, it depends on how big your motor is and how much you go full blast. Anywhere between 7-15 minutes. For me its about 10.

  • 3S means 3 cells in series. The 'S' is for 'series'. These days we are flying bigger planes requiring larger voltages and/or higher capacities. So we add the 'P' for number of batteries in parallel. So a 3S1P battery has 3 cells and is 11.1v. If you connect two of these batteries in parallel, you will have a 3S2P, still 11.1v, but double the capacity. 5S2P would have 18.5v and double the capacity of a 5S1P battery.

  • I agree! And he doesn't explain what the C rating actually means, and this value is very important these days, what with all the brushless monster trucks that are (going to be) hitting the scene this year.

  • Thanx Dave, very helpful for the noob!

  • would 2200mah support esc

  • @flyinportopotty WRONG! "to find the amperage you must divide the milliamps by the c rating". You must MULTIPLY the milliamps by the C rating. So a 30C will last 3 times as long as a 10C. You are totally backwards.

  • @dalotel Not so sure about that anymore. Batteries, motors, ESCs have come way down, especially if you but the zippy batteries from china. I just bought a .60 size conversion from Grayson for about $90 for electric motor and ESC (non-BEC) and get my Zippy batteries from China for about $30. Not to mention over the last 2 years I have lost 2 planes due to nitro engine crap-outs.

  • @flyinportopotty Are you sure about this? If a 2000 mah 10C gives me 6 min and a 2000 mah 40C give me 1.5 min then why does the worst battery cost so much more?

  • hi

can i ask what would give longer runtine.

    x1 5000mah 4s.....40c

    or

    x2 5000 mah 2s.......40c per battery

    BIG THANKS

  • i just bought a 3.7V 350mAh Lithium-ion polymer battery what do i charge it at, what amps, and what do i need to to know so it lasts long and safe

  • Very, very helpful. This has answered many questions for me. Thanks.

  • Where is the glow engine tuning video Dave? For the price of a li-po charger you can get your flight box and fuel ready for the season.
