The series technically ran from 1985 - 1992.
There where 4 special's in 1980, 1981, 1983 and 1984 before the series.

Lisa, according to Wiki, The Racoons made its debut in 1980 with The Christmas Raccoons TV special. The first series then aired in 1985.

The most warm and loving memories when my only son DAVID was only 5 years old. We used to watch The Raccoons in bed, on saturday mormings while having breakfast. My son is now 22 and I´m a Mom whose heart is treasuring each of those moments... Thank you and best regards from Concepción, Chile.
